Thank you for stopping by!

As a wife, mother of two, and pediatrician at a community health center, I treasure the relationships and encounters we have with each other.  I also love writing.  I can’t think clearly until I work it out in words and write it down.  And so I write as much as time allows… to capture the joys and the aches, the hopes and the doubts, and all the things that make my heart happy.   One Family Table is my little nook where I reflect on life, faith in Christ, and lessons of the heart that come alive in ordinary moments.  Well Child Chats eventually emerged as another avenue for me to share topics on children’s health, which is a passion of mine.

In our home, the family table has welcomed many folks into our lives over the years.  There we have had meals, conversations, meetings, stories of both celebration and heartache, as well as times of quiet and solitude.  It has witnessed the power of community in encouraging, inspiring, and changing lives.  In the same way, I welcome you to this site.  Although the internet is no substitute for people in our lives, I do believe words are powerful and we can use them to bless each other.  Please stick around and share your thoughts and experiences!  I would love to hear them.

  1. HI, love your blog! I am so glad to find another doctor who is a Christian. Dr. T is a blogger that I regularly visit; you might want to read his funny stories.
So sorry you have all been sick but at least you have a good sense of humor about it which I believe is a God given gift.

    keep Blogging!

    • Naphtali, thanks so much for checking out my blog. I’ll check out Dr. T as well. It took me a while to feel comfortable being more open about thoughts on Christianity and my own faith stories, exactly because there aren’t exactly many physicians out there writing openly about their faith. In the medical field, it doesn’t feel like a popular subject either. Thanks for your encouragement, I really appreciate it! And yes, we’re all finally feeling better, but there seems to be a good deal of residual grumpiness in the household after the fact. Hopefully we’ll get back on track and into a routine again soon. 🙂

    • Naphtali, thanks so much! Sorry it’s taking me a while to respond. I do plan to, just not very on top of things over here. 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoy and relate to what I’ve written though. It means a lot.

What do you think?
